If you love the moody, medieval look of the Moray pack but your computer isn’t exactly a powerhouse, the Moray Swift resource pack could be a perfect fit. It was created by a developer named esmirff, who took the well-loved 32x Moray pack and deliberately shrank it into a lighter version. The original was built to give builders a deeply immersive medieval and Victorian atmosphere. After plenty of requests from the community for something easier on hardware, esmirff put together Moray Swift for players who prefer sticking with vanilla resolutions. Most of its updates and upkeep happened during the Minecraft 1.7 era, and it received dozens of careful revisions along the way to keep the textures polished and relevant. The biggest selling point is the 16x resolution. Unlike its 32x parent, this pack uses exactly the same pixel count as regular Minecraft. Squeezing all those detailed medieval designs into such a small format is no easy task, yet the developer managed to keep the core identity intact.
Color-wise, the pack goes for a dark, gritty, and slightly ominous feel. You’ll see deep greys across stonework, muted browns on wooden planks, and a darker tint over the whole environment. That mood suits towering medieval castles and crowded Victorian streets really well. To pull it all together, esmirff also tweaked biome block textures, armor models, and interface elements, so the entire world feels consistent and rooted in a historical setting. When it comes to performance, this pack is a dream. Since it runs at a standard 16x resolution, it’s incredibly light on your system. The creator even promoted it with the tagline “small but smart,” which sums up its efficiency nicely. It runs great on its own, but installing OptiFine is still recommended if you want to get the most out of the visuals.

How to install Moray Swift Resource Pack:
- Most resource packs require Optifine, so be sure to download and install it. – general recommended step for all packs, Optifine is also needed for most shaders
- Download the Moray Swift texture pack for Minecraft from the download section below. – if there are many different versions, just choose the one you like, is compatible with your version/edition of Minecraft, the one you think your computer can handle in terms of performance.
- Launch the game client through the Minecraft launcher.
- On the main menu, click "Options".
- On the options menu, click "Resource Packs...".
- Click on "Open Resource Pack Folder". – folder titled "resourcepacks" will pop up
- Move the .zip file you downloaded in the first step to the newly opened "resourcepacks" folder.
- Click "Done".
- Click on "Resource Packs..." again.
- Your pack should have appeared in the left window, just hover over it and click on the arrow pointing to the right.
QUICK TIP: Sometimes, when activating a pack, the game may say that the pack is made for a newer or older version of Minecraft. This is just a warning, it does not affect your gameplay in anyway, and you can still activate and enjoy the pack by simply clicking the "Yes" button when prompted.
- Click "Done" again.
- The pack has now been successfully loaded and ready to be used in your world!
